Les Anis de Flavigny

An exceedingly good team of confectioners

each passionate about Anis®.

A factory brimming with confectionery expertise…

Our story is a remarkable one, a story of men and women who took seeds, sugar and skills to Flavigny and put them to work to build a magnificent abbey. Even today, the ladies and gentlemen of the Factory take great pride and pleasure in crafting an extraordinary product and breathing life into an exceedingly good sweet.

The French government listed Anis de Flavigny® as a “Living Heritage Company” in 2017. What a wonderful reward for a team which has worked for years, decades and generations, handing down their unique skills and experience to the next generation of confectioners.
Sugar-coating these sweets is such a specific, unique skill that it can only be learned here at the Factory. There’s no school which teaches these techniques, and there hasn’t been for more than 500 years. This is why our company is so proud to pass on our techniques and our tools (such as the copper panning basins) to the next generations.
These intangible aspects are as much a part of who we are as our remarkable history and architecture.
